Dr. Wako, is a Psychologist Resident in Oregon and offers evidence-based therapies tailored to each client's unique needs. Through a client-centered approach, she fosters self-awareness, resilience, and growth using techniques rooted in CBT, humanistic psychology, and culturally responsive care.
Dr. Wako has a PhD from Western Michigan University.
She is Originally from Oromia, Ethiopia and grew up in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Wako completed her APA Doctoral Internship at the University of Oregon's Counseling services.
Dr. Wako's background and life experiences have deeply shaped her commitment to inclusivity and sensitivity to the diverse challenges people face.
Dr. Wako Wellness, offers counseling, consulting, and testing services in a safe, nonjudgmental space. Her holistic approach addresses the emotional, psychological, and practical aspects of everyday life to help you find balance, peace, and self-understanding.
In addition to clinical work, Dr. Wako enjoys staying active through hiking, salsa dancing, and spending time at the gym. Dr. Wako is currently supervised by Dr. Julie Davis
Dr. Julie Davis is the Clinical Supervisor at Dr Wako Wellness. Dr. Davis brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise. While she does not see clients directly, her guidance and oversight are integral to maintaining the highest standards of care within our practice.
Dr. Davis's education, training, and professional background emphasize the diverse dimensions of human development and identity, including physical, intellectual, social, cultural, and relational influences. She has received specialized training in addressing trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, perfectionism, personality disorders, and relational challenges. Her holistic approach to therapy acknowledges the significant impact of historical and social contexts, family dynamics, emotional and cognitive development, and cultural factors on individuals' worldviews and life experiences.
Dr. Davis is a fully licensed psychologist in the state of Oregon and Michigan, qualified to perform intellectual and psychological assessments and diagnose and treat mental health disorders. She is also a participating member of PsyPact, enabling her to provide services across multiple states. Julie earned her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University in 2009.
